Organizing Information Do-Now! 1/4
Having an organized computer makes your life and internet experience so much easier. You could make different folders and bookmark different items to make things easier when you are on the internet. Creating folders makes thing easier because you could then just go to your files and open the folder when your information is needed. Say you are doing a research project for your history class. You would look up your topic and then you could book mark your favorite websites which you thought were the most useful. By bookmarking these websites, you could use them when it is time to write the paper very easily and organized. You could even share the websites with friends! The same with pictures, labeling the folder with the name of the events which the pictures are taken. For example, Elsa is having a party for her birthday with her family. Her grandma could not make it, so she wants to share some photos with her grandmother. After the party, she uploads the pictures onto her computer and she puts them in a folder labeled "Elsa's 15th Birthday Party!". This is easier for Elsa because she now can easily get the pictures to send to her grandmother. Elsa easily sends the pictures to her grandmother and she is so happy! A hierarchical system would be the easiest to use because it is very branched off and is very easy to find the things you need! This makes finding pictures, documents, or links fast and easy! Tagging thing such as pictures and links makes thing easy to retrieve when you may not remember the exact name of it. By using the tags you could just easily just search the tag and you could easily find what ever you need. Social bookmarking is sharing bookmarks with friends and family. Say you are on the school's basketball team and your aunt and uncle want to know your schedule. You could bookmark the link to the schedule of your basketball games and share it with your aunt and uncle anytime you would like. Isn't having an organized computer make thing so much easier?
